The Italian Cultural Institute and Luce Cinecitta` proudly present the second annual Italian Film Festival with its evocative new title Cinema Made in Italy. From 9th to 15th March there's a week of British premieres for new Italian films at Cine` Lumière, eight chosen by Paolo Mereghetti, film critic for Il Corriere della Sera, and two by Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London. One additional film, Summer Games, is a primarily Swiss production that revels in Italy's cinematic splendour. For the rest of the month Italian films based around sport, in honour of the Olympic year, will be screened in the Georgian splendour of the Italian Cultural Institute itself. In addition, there will be a tribute to master director Vittorio De Seta, who died last year, and a Q&A with Renzo Rossellini, son of Roberto Rossellini.

  • 9th-15th March - thirteen screenings of brand new Italian films featuring Q&As with renowned directors and actors
    Cine` Lumière, 17 Queensbury Place, London SW7 2DT
  • 16th-30th March - contemporary Italian film screenings, plus a selection of Italian TV sporting dramas, in honour of the Olympic year, and a filmic celebration of the director Vittorio de Seta. There will also be opportunities to sample delicious Italian gastronomy
